On the Ten Commandments |
|
The First
"No other gods
before God."
The Second
"No idols."
The Third
"Do not take
the Lord's name in vain."
The Forth
"Remember the
Sabbath, to keep in holy."
The Fifth
"Honor your
father and mother."
The Sixth
"Do not murder."
Most of us have not committed the crime of depriving someone of
human life, but all of us have been guilty of getting angry with
others without cause. Jesus said that he that did this deserved
the same punishment as a murderer (Matthew
5:21-22). Think back have you harbored hatred in your heart
against someone without cause? If so you are guilty of breaking
the sixth commandment. (1 John 3:15)
The Seventh
"Do not commit
adultery." Jesus said that whosoever had looked on a woman
to lust after her, had already committed adultery with her in
his heart (Matthew
5:27-28). Have you looked on a woman or man with lust? If
so you have broken the seventh commandment.
The Eighth
"Do not steal."
The Ninth
"Do not bear
false witness."
The Tenth
"Do not
covet."
